Event Description
Ringside MMA provided another night of exciting fights with its latest installment Ringside MMA 12 a 10-bout card which took place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and saw a main event of two former UFC stars and and a collection of homegrown talent prevailing in front of a raucous crowd. It was a well-rounded night of action as 5 of the bouts ended in either knockout or submission while the decisions were action packed slug fests and grappling clinics.

In the main event, Paul Daley (28-11-2) defeated Luigi Fioravanti (22-11) via unanimous decision. Daley put his last two losses behind him with an impressive striking performance as he used great, hard-hitting boxing, vicious leg kicks and showed off his improving takedown defense all in a winning effort against Fioravanti who if nothing else showed he can absorb a great amount of punishment. Fioravanti never hurt Daley or put him in an uncomfortable position and as the fight wore on it was apparent Daley was just in a class of his own.

In the co-main event, Michel Gagnon (8-1) defeated David Harris via guillotine choke in Round 1. Gagnon is the reigning Ringside MMA featherweight champion, but this bout was contested at bantamweight, and with the victory over top prospect Harris, Gagnon proved he is a terror in both divisions. Originally Gagnon was scheduled to fight for the 135 lb title and this victory will only stoke the fire of that plan as he has an opportunity to be one of the very few to win and hold titles in two different weight classes at the same time.

In other action, Alex Garia (7-1) out of Tristar Gym in Montreal got back on the winning track after defeating Matt MacGrath (6-6) via KO in Round 1. It was a uncommon sequence that led to the finish as Garcia actually bulled his way through a takedown attempt that for the most part knocked out MacGrath. Once on the ground, Garcia followed up with a few more strikes for good measure until the referee intervened.
