Elivr Muriqi vs Paul Vasquez
In the Main Event, Elvir Muriqi (40-5) returned from a 15 month layoff to take on the very tough Paul Vasquez (9-3). Vasquez, who donated his entire purse to a children's charity, came in as a "tune-up' but apparently did not get the memo. Muriqi controlled the pace early hurting Vasquez a few times. Vasquez, did not quit, and took control using his jab and bringing the fight to Muriqi. In the last 2 round, Muriqi seemed to be staggered a few times but was able to finish the fight on his feet. The judges scored the fight 76-76 even & 77-75 twice in favor of your winniner via Majority Decision Elvir Muriqi.
Patrick Farrell & John Lennox was an absolute WAR in the Heavyweight division! For the better part of the fight it seemed like they were fighting in a phone booth. Even when both men were extremely tired they kept going to war. Lennox used the uppercut landing at will throughout the fight and busting open Farrell's nose, which could have been the deciding factor for the judges. The judges scored the fight 59-55 Lennox, 58-56 Farrell, and 58-56 for your winner via split decision John Lennox.
Vinny O'Brien (4-2) used his superior conditioning to outgun the rugged Anthony Smith (1-2). Smith seemed to wear himself out early allowing O'Brien to land his wide shots seemingly at will. Even though Smith was gassed he stayed in the fight but was ultimately outworked by the aggressive O'Brien. Due to technical difficulties I was unable to hear the scores but Vinny O'Brien was victorious via decision.
Anthony "Juice" Young (7-0) continued his undefeated streak by annihilating Ronnie Jordan (1-2-1) in 3 rounds. Jordan simply did not have enough to compete the confident Young. Young used his skillset to pick apart Jordan. At the end of the 3rd round it seemed Jordan wanted out while being battered against the ropes. The ref called a halt to the action between the 3rd and 4th round in favor of Anthony "Juice" Young.
Ricky Edwards (1-0) made a fantastic pro debut against a game Moises Molina (1-3). Molina was simply no match for Edwards, who landed the more significant punches throughout the fight. Molina tried his heart out but was simply not on Edwards level. Edwards dropped Molina late in the second followed by a vicious barrage of punch when he rose until the bell rang. In the 3rd, Edwards dropped Molina again causing the referee to stop the fight at 0:58 in favor of Ricky Edwards.
In the opening bout Glenford Nickey Jr (2-0) faced off against Anolan Rigal (1-4). Nickey controlled the fight with his power and continuously overwhelmed the game Rigal. In the 3rd round Nickey dropped Rigal with a vicious left hand but the tough Rigal rose to his feet. Nickey follow the knockdown with a barrage until the ref stepped in and called a halt to the action at the 1:40 mark of Round 3 in favor of Nickey.
