Event Videos and Bouts
The North American Allied Fight Series (NAAFS) returned to GFL.tv with "Combat Challenge 21" at Chapparells Community Center in Akron, Ohio with a 12-bout amateur card with 9 stoppages, featuring the rising stars of MMA in the Midwest region. NAAFS is one of the most prolific MMA organizations in the country as it runs a monthly event in and around the Ohio area.
In a main event, Dustin Wolf (4-0) from Strong Style Fight Team defeated Nick Olei (3-1) via KO in the first round in a welterweight scrap. Wolf is a submission specialist who has two wins previously via tapout but showed he is also very dangerous on the feet as he landed a crushing strike to Olei that put him down for the count. It was a battle of undefeated fighters and on this night it was all Wolf. Wolf continues to impress with his willingness to engage all competitors and adding such a win against a gritty opponent like Olei will only raise Wolf up in the eyes of NAAFS promoters and fans. Look for Wolf to continue to make some serious noise in the 170 lb division.
In the co-main event, Allanna Jones (4-2) defeated Ashley Hawkins (3-2) via unanimous decision after three exciting rounds in a 130 lb bout. Jones controlled the action on her feet landing the crisper, more accurate strikes while keeping Hawkins off balance through most of the bout. It was still a good showing by Hawkins though who never stopped coming at Jones and even landed some shots of her own, winning a round on one of the judge's scorecards. Both women showed tremendous heart in the cage and this bout showcased NAAFS' strong desire for women's MMA to succeed as this bout was evenly matched. In other action, in the lightweight division Kenny Jackson (9-5) defeated AJ Bosley (5-3) by KO in round one in another fast paced, nonstop action fight.
As usual from NAAFS, "Combat Challenge 21" was an explosive card and it's a must see for any MMA fan. Be sure to catch all of the action from this event live exclusively at GFL.tv.
