Ring of Honor's Death Before Dishonor IX was another great outing by the #1 cutting edge professional wrestling organization in North America and really set the table for ROH's big jump into its weekly national television program that is set to debut later this month on the Sinclair Broadcast Group of channels throughout the country. Death Before Dishonor IX was a stacked 7-bout card that featured excellent matches from top to bottom and gave the fans great in-ring work that ROH is famous for.
In the main event, The All Night Express (Rhett Titus and Kenny King) defeated the Briscoe Brothers (Mark and Jay) in a bloody and death defying Ladder War III. The match was chalk full of wild exchanges and jaw-dropping moves by all four men that left you feeling like you had just ridden the world's wildest rollercoaster after it was all over. To their credit, Titus and King earned a future title shot for the ROH World Tag Team Titles when Kenny King, standing atop the ladder, grabbed the contract that was hanging above the ring. With all of the damage Titus and King dished out and received, it's anyone's guess as to when they will be ready to compete for the championship belts.
In the co-main event, in a Ringmaster Challenge - 2 out of 3 Falls Match it was a battle of former ROH World Champions as Eddie Edwards defeated Roderick Strong after additional time was needed to determine a winner in the third fall. After each grappler scored a win in the first 2 matches (pinfall and submission), the final match, an Iron Man Match went the distance, indicating the contest would be ruled a draw. But Jim Cornette came out to the ring and ordered the match to continue until a winner was decided. After a series of near falls and Edwards and Strong trading stiff shots, Edwards finally got the pin when he delivered a merciless series of powerbombs, a clothesline and a cradle driver. This sets up a rematch between ROH Champion Davey Richards and the man he beat for the title, Eddie Edwards. If their future match is anything like their previous matches, pro wrestling fans are in for another treat when the American Wolves lock up again.
