Virginia's #1 hybrid promotion featuring MMA and Muay Thai returned as Combat Sports Challenge (CSC) partnered with Battleware Technologies to present CSC 32 Battleware Fighting Championships on in front of a lively crowd at the Crown Plaza - Richmond West in Richmond, Virginia. The event was a mixed event featuring pro/am fights in MMA and Muay Thai and was not stop action for the entire 14-bout card.
In the main event, on the MMA side, Ring of Combat veteran Dwayne Shelton (10-9-1) of Team Combat in Virginia defeated Ryan Mcintosh (9-18) from Cincinnati, Ohio via submission (knee injury) in round one. It was an awkward end as both fighters were exchanging strikes as Mcintosh tried to pull guard, but the attempt was shaken off by Shelton. When Mcintosh landed, his knee popped and he tapped out. For Shelton this was a good win as he came out of the fight without a scratch on him and will be able to fight fairly soon again. For Mcintosh, this was a tough draw as he was a late replacement and showed heart just taking the fight on short notice in Shelton's backyard. Hopefully his knee will heal up soon and he will be back in the ring in no time too. In the co-main event, Francois Ambang (2-3-1) from Virginia defeated Anthony Jamison (0-2) by rear naked choke in round two. Ambang looked chiseled out of granite and proved to be too fast and explosive for Jamison to keep up with. Unfortunately, it was a questionable call by the referee that led to the end of the fight. The referee restarted the fight in the center of the ring on the ground, after an accidental eye poke, but allowed Ambang to grab a choke before action was started again. Jamison tapped out immediately and Ambang was awarded the submission victory in a bizarre display of circumstances. In Muay Thai action, Ani Hilditch out of the Combat Sports Center in Virginia defeated Robin Reese via unanimous decision and in doing so won the WKA Women's Championship. For fans of the combat sports, this hybrid card is for you. Be sure to catch all of the action as CSC presents CSC 32 Battleware Fighting Championships exclusively at GFL.tv. |
