Muay Thai is back as TaKe-On Productions presented Battle at the 7 Train XI, full contact Muay Thai at the 7 Train Theatre in Flushing, New York. The card featured at hotly anticipated main event, along with the semifinals of the 155 lb "Rising Stars" 8-man tournament. If you love the striking game, this is the event for you. TaKe-On always puts together great Muay Thai events that feature high level striking with blistering kicks, punches, knees and elbows.
In the main event, Greg Rowe (10-3) from Five Points Academy defeated Chris Mauceri (7-4) from Black & Blue MMA via judges' decision after five grueling rounds in the 147 lb division. Both Rowe and Mauceri landed punishing strikes throughout the bout, but it was Rowe's ability to maintain a high pace that allowed him to pull away in the later rounds. Rowe connected with big shots throughout the bout, while Mauceri became less busy the longer the fight went. Rowe was very accurate with his strikes and racked up points that gave him the decision. For Mauceri, he showed great heart and determination, even in defeat, and he was never close to getting knocked out, although he absorbed a tremendous amount of punishment. In one of the 155 lb tournament fights, Andrilo "Jr" Suarez (3-0) from American Killer Bees in Queens, New York beat James Gregory (4-1) from Cool Hearts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to set up one half of the finals bracket for later this year. Suarez looked dominant in the bout and remains undefeated heading into the biggest fight of his young career. In the second bout in the 155 lb tournament, Freddy Cheung (2-1) from Sitan Gym in Queens defeated Akio Nakasone (2-1) from The Wat in New York City via split decision to advance to the finals where he will lock horns with Suarez. The only way to watch this thrilling card that will no doubt have some great knockouts is to order it exclusively through the GFL Combat Sports Network at GFL.tv. Be sure to catch all of the hard hitting action as TaKe-On Productions presents Battle at the 7 Train XI. Order now! |
