Xtreme Combat Promotions, New England's premier MMA organization, returned to GFL with Randolph Rampage, a 12-bout pro/am card emanating from Vermont Technical College. XCP has been on a tear lately and this is their third event broadcast worldwide on GFL.tv in 2013. This event featured a stacked card with the top up and combing prospects inside the New England area with a special treat for local fans as it will be the Northeast Assassins VS Contenders Gym in a rivalry that is sure to heat up the night!
In the main event, New Hampshire native Matt Durling (6-0) defeated Jay MacLean (4-3) via unanimous decision winning every round to remain undefeated in a bantamweight scrap. Durling used relentless wrestling to take MacLean down and keep him there for the majority of the fight. Every round was a replay as Durling was on top controlling the whole fight while MacLean was on his back. MacLean even gave a nod to Durling after the fight by raising his hand showing that Durling was a tough competitor who deserved the win. It was a solid win for Durling who showed that his wrestling is a cut above most other fighters in XCP. He might be in line for a title fight very soon with a performance like this.
In other action, John Ward defeated John O'Brien via TKO in round one in the heavyweight division. Ward shrugged off the wrestling of O'Brien and as the two fell to the mat Ward landed several unanswered punches, while O'Brien covered up and the ref stopped the fight.
You won't find more BANG for your buck so order this thrilling event. Be sure to catch all of the action now on video on demand as Xtreme Combat Promotions presents Randolph Rampage.
