Victory Promotions - Clementi vs. Rogers

Victory Promotions, based in Boston, Massachusetts, delivered on a great night of fights with its 9-bout card, Clementi VS Rogers. All of action took place at the full capacity Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts and the fans were not disappointed as 5 of the 9 fights ended in either KO or submission, including the main event.

In the main event, UFC and TUF veteran Rich "No Love" Clementi (41-19-1) defeated Ronnie "Bam Bam" Rogers (10-7) by rear naked choke in Round 2 of a lightweight barnburner. Clementi looked great in his performance and conjured up memories when he was a feared lightweight in the UFC. In Round 1, it was a back and forth bout, mostly grappling, and Rogers secured a tight guillotine while Clementi was in his guard. Clementi reversed the position and landed short elbows to Rogers face while controlling the rest of the round including landing a strong takedown of his own near the end of the round. In Round 2, the fighters continued there fast pace and after a quick exchange on the feet, Clementi was able to secure Rogers' back while still in the standup. Clementi climbed up Rogers' back, sunk in his hooks around Rogers' waist and then secured the standing rear naked choke for the victory. For Clementi this was a great victory against a solid opponent and proved that "No Love" still has a lot to offer on the national stage.

The co-main event is a battle of East Coast favorites as Matt Lee (13-9-1) defeated Tiawan Howard (9-8) by a hard-earned unanimous decision in a welterweight clash. Lee returned to the eastern seaboard victorious after a stint in Bellator. Lee's conditioning was the key as he was able to set a pace that Howard could not match, which allowed him to be the busier of the two fighters in the cage for the majority of the fight. It was a good win for Lee and a victory over the gritty Howard will likely open up new doors for Lee within the sport.
