Ultimate Warrior Fighting 4 - Tournament Finale

Ultimate Warrior Fighting presented its 8-man tournament finals in the welterweight and lightweight divisions and two fighters from the Houston area were crowned champions. The 10-bout card had impressive fights all night as half ended in either KO or submission and the decisions where hard fought and exciting from the opening bell to the final bell.

In the main event, Brazilian transplant Flavio Alvaro defeated Rey Trujillo via split decision in a back-and-forth scrap. It was Alvaro's conditioning and wrestling that proved to be the difference as he was able to control the majority of the fight with takedowns in the opening round and in the final round got Trujillo to the mat again and even went for choke, showing he still had plenty of gas in the tank to finish the fight. To Trujillo's credit, he never gave up and put on a solid performance with the second round being his best as he controlled Alvaro on the mat for the middle round. But it was not enough as Alvaro had taken rounds one and three and was awarded the decision and crowned the first UWF Lightweight Champion in history and $25,000.

In the welterweight finals, Lucas Pimenta defeated John Malbrough via unanimous decision. In the opening round, Pimenta surprised everyone as he took Malbrough down and delivered some vicious strikes from the top and having Malbrough in a difficult spot. The theme continued for the rest of the fight as Pimenta got more takedowns and did more ground and pound and racked up points on his way to a solid win against a tough fighter. Pimenta now stands atop the 170 lb division in Texas MMA as the first UWF Champion and $25,000.
