Event Description
Northern Nevada's premier cage fighting event returned as "Ultimate Reno Combat 35" took place at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. Voted the #1 Amateur MMA Event in the Nation, URC always showcases the top up and coming fighters from around Nevada and California and URC 35 was no different.

In the main event, for the vacant ISCF Amateur West Coast Middleweight Title, Anthony Hernandez (6-0) defeated Blake Smee (5-1) via TKO in round three. In round one both traded strikes, with Hernandez doing damage with kicks while Smee landed with punches. Hernandez then landed a takedown and went to work on the mat with some strong ground and pound on Smee. Hernandez showed off great wrestling in keeping Smee on the mat here. Round two was more of the same as both men traded punches and positioning on the ground. In round three, it looked like Smee got the advantage with his pinpoint striking until Hernandez finished the fight with some heavy punches forcing the ref's hand. It was a great main event between two fighters that gave it their all.

In the co-main event, for the URC Heavyweight Championship, Terrell Bosen (5-0) defended his title against Benito Lopez(3-1) via TKO in round one. It was a battle of URC's top two heavyweights and Bosen clearly showed why he is number one. It was like two bulls in a china shop as Bosen and Lopez threw haymakers at each other almost from the opening bell. After a short lull in action when the fight to the ground, they were stood up by the ref and Bosen continued his offense landing punch after punch stopping Lopez in under two minutes. Bosen is a wrecking machine that has shown little weakness in his MMA game so far. Bosen is a great young prospect to be sure.
