Rumble in the Cage 45

Western Canada's longest running cage fighting event returned as Rumble in the Cage presents RITC 45 at the Lethbridge Exhibition - South Pavillion, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada with a 17 bout pro/am card featuring the rising stars of Canada. Rumble in the Cage is a breeding ground and one of the best ways for a fighter to make a name for himself in the Great White North and with the talent on display at RITC 45 many of the participants are sure to hit the international scene very soon. The exciting event featured 15 finishes out of 17 bouts. You won't find a better stoppage percentage anywhere. If you like KOs and submissions this is the event for you.

In the main event, hometown hero and UFC veteran Jesse Bongfeldt (16-5-1) from Progressive Fighting Academy submitted Brandon MacArthur (3-18) by guillotine choke in Round 2 after a back and forth middleweight scrap. MacArthur showed great heart and impressed the crowd with his performance as many saw this bout as an over-matched battle. But MacArthur gave Bongfeldt all he could handle until finally succumbing to the superb ground work of the former UFC fighter. With the victory, Bongfeldt laid claim to his stake as still one of the top middleweights in Canada and showed that he is still a valuable asset to the large international companies.

In the co-main event, Brandt Dewsberry (6-1-1) defeated Joe Gobiel (1-3) by KO in Round 1 of a welterweight contest. Both fighters were coming off nice submission victories in their last fights, but it was Dewsberry who was able to extend the momentum with a devastating KO. The bout only lasted a minute and proved that fights can change and end in an instant.

A kickboxing match also highlighted the event as Mitch Pearson defeated Brendan Blacquier by KO in Round 2. Pearson caught Blacquier with a right hook that ended the fight and gave fans another exciting knockout to a stacked card that saw spectacular finishes all night.
