NFC 7 presents "Field of Fury" on June 23 in Carroll, Ohio. The pro/am card features some of the rising prospects in the Midwest. If you can't be there to see it live don't worry, because the GFL Combat Sports Network is streaming it live on Internet pay-per-view.
In the main event, Luke Zachrich (10-2) battles Cincinnati's finest in Marcus Finch (5-6) in a middleweight scrap. Zachrich is a TUF and Bellator veteran and looks to make a statement against Finch who looks to strike gold with a victory over Zachrich. Zachrich is a submission specialist who loves to attack his opponents arm with either key locks or armbars. With over half of his wins come via submission due to damage he inflicted on his opponents' arms, Finch will have to keep his grappling tight and not leave anything out in the open for Zachrich to grab ahold of. For Finch, a win against Zachrich will improve his record to an even .500 but more importantly it will be a feather in his cap and his finest victory as a pro. A win for Finch will get the attention of all the promoters around the country and good be the seminal win of his career. Both 185 lb fighters will be looking at finishing the fight as a win in the main event at a NFC show is what most Midwest fighters aspire to achieve and for either Zachrich or Finch that is exactly what will happen on June 23. In the co-main event, Jason Riley (9-6) fights William Penn (6-3) in a heavyweight tussle. Riley is a Strikeforce vet who has been in the cage with some of the best including current Strikeforce Tournament Champion Daniel Cormier and former UFC Champ Tim Sylvia. Riley will look to take Penn out in devastating fashion and get back in the win column and move up the food chain of the heavyweight division. Penn is riding a 3-fight win streak and the Bellator vet looks to make it 4 in a row against Riley. If Penn can finish Riley in convincing fashion, a title show with NFC can't be far behind. You won't want to blink for this fight as when the cage is shut these two heavy hitters will be throwing everything but the kitchen sink at one another and when it is all over only one will likely be standing. Don't miss this electrifying event featuring some of the top regional mixed martial arts talents from around the Midwest.
