MMA Fight Night

American MMA Fight League presented MMA FIGHT NIGHT III, at the Newtown Athletic Club in Newtown, Pennsylvania to a rowdy and vocal group of MMA fans. AMMAFL's event was loaded to the max with a 10-bout card featuring some great matchmaking as 4 of the fights ended in either submission or knockout and the remaining 6 went the distance in back and forth close decisions. AMMAFL had a mixture of rising prospects and polished veterans topped off by a great main event.

In the main event, Christopher Wing (3-1) defeated Jason Lee (0-4) by unanimous decision in a welterweight battle. Despite the misleading difference in records, Wing and Lee were evenly matched in the cage as both gave as well as they took. It was Wing who won most of the exchanges on the feet though, and also controlled a majority of the ground action. Lee to his credit showed why he was put in the main event, because he is one of the most exciting fighters you will ever see, always pushing the action and going for broke every second of the fight. Wing was just a bit more polished in the cage and it showed as the judges awarded him the decision after a tough 3-round war.

In the co-main event, Steve McCabe (5-11) defeated Justin Dalton (6-1) by TKO in Round 1. McCabe trains at the famous Fight Factory the same gym as Bellator Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez. At the opening bell, the two fighters threw punches until McCabe grabbed a body lock and was able to take Dalton to the mat. From there, McCabe landed a series of overhand punches that connected and the referee quickly stopped the bout.
