DaMMAge Fight League - The Big Bang
DaMMAge Fight League kept the fans at the Taj Mahal on the edge of their seats Wednesday night as they debuted with "The Big Bang" With a host of former UFC stars and an incredible women's match-up on the card, the promotion set forth in the right direction. Tara LaRosa battled Japanese star Takayo Hashi for five grueling rounds to become the first DaMMAge Fight League Super Flyweight Women's Champion. Hashi showed off some solid striking skills and LaRosa kept her opponent off guard with a series of submission attempts. The judges scored the bout 49-46, 49-46, 48-47 for LaRosa. Former UFC heavyweights Brandon Lee Hinkle and Kevin Jordan squared off in the night's co-main event. In his first fight in over a year and a half, Hinkle made quick work of Jordan by scoring a TKO victory just 2:30 into round one. Well traveled Chris Liguori took on fellow Ring of Combat regular John Salgado battled back and forth for 15 minutes with Liguori taking hone the unanimous decision victory. Rafaello "Tractor" Oliveira had a 3 fight run in the UFC that ended with a 1-2 record this past March. The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt came back with a vengeance as he steamrolled through Kevin Roddy from start to finish before he slapped on a rear naked choke forcing Roddy to tapout with just 15 seconds left in the first round.
