Cut Throat MMA - Invasion 4

Cut Throat MMA returned with Invasion 4 at the La Sierra Banquet Hall in Aurora, Illinois. Cut Throat MMA has quickly established itself as one of the hottest MMA organizations in the Midwest and is a breeding ground for the sports future stars as it has several different series' of MMA events that is promotes throughout the region. Invasion 4 was chalk full of great fights on the 10-bout amateur card and once again showed why they are the premier MMA proving ground of MMA in the Midwest region.

In the main event, Carlson Gracie's Sam Ferguson (3-1) defeated Andrew West (2-2) by armbar in Round 1. Ferguson got a takedown early on in the fight and improved his position on the ground eventually securing mount where he unloaded a barrage of punches. With only seconds remaining in the round, Ferguson saw an opening and grabbed West's arm and spun around for the armbar and submission victory. A great showing by another student in the long line of Gracie Jiu Jitsu.

In the co-main event, Carlson Gracie's Tom Shoaff (6-0) defeated Cody Smith in Round 1 via KO. Shoaff showed that there's more than just grappling at Carlson Gracie's Academy as he landed a picture perfect uppercut that ended the fight midway through the opening round. For the undefeated Shoaff, it was another win that shows he is clearly ready to turn professional. It was a great night for Carlson Gracie's Academy as the students went undefeated on the night.
