The Roy Jones, Jr. promoted Caged Combat 4 gave the MMA fans of Grand Ronde, Oregon an exciting night of fights, with an 8-bout card that saw 7 fights ending in either knockout or submission. All 16 fighters gave everything they had on this full throttle card and showed that Caged Combat is a promotion on the rise.
In the main event, "Fast" Eddy Ellis (15-12-1) defeated James "Bird Dog" Birdsley (20-13) by verbal submission in Round 2. Ellis and Birdsley were striking on their feet when Birdsley had enough and turned his back forcing the referee to step in and call a halt to the fight. Ellis lived up to his nickname and won another bout in what will no doubt lead to his increasingly big following in the Northwest. In the co-main event, Eric Dahlberg (8-2) beat Jory Erickson (8-3) by knockout in Round 3. The fight was a back and forth contest between the two competitors with both men landing hard punches throughout the bout. The end came when after a quick scramble on their feet, Dahlberg landed a solid knee sending Erickson down to the mat. Dahlberg followed up with a right hand on the ground before the referee could intervene. This was a high-impact ending to a fight that had the crowd going crazy throughout the three rounds. In other action, IFL veteran and Team Quest fighter Aaron Stark(10-6) defeated Jared Torgeson (4-6) by rear naked choke in Round 1 in a battle of light heavyweights. Thomas Leisman (1-0) was also victorious in his debut bout as he defeated Lee Morrison (4-3) by armbar in Round 1. Tony King (3-2) defeated Peter Aspinwall (3-2) by TKO in Round 2 in a battle of up and comers. The only way to watch this exciting card is to order now through the GFL Combat Sports Network by video on demand. Watch as the former "Pound for Pound" Champion in boxing Roy Jones, Jr. puts his muscles behind his MMA organization. Caged Combat 4 is a great event for all fans of the combat sports. Order now! |
