Event Description
Atlantic City, NJ - Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) returns to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Friday, August 24, 2012 with a total of four title fights, headlined by undefeated phenom Tim "The South Jersey Strangler" Williams versus UFC veteran David Branch for the vacant CFFC middleweight title. "I'm a huge fan of both Timmy and Dave", said CFFC President Rob Haydak Jr. "They exemplify what it means to be a true professional. We are elated at the prospect of recognizing either Timmy or Dave as our new CFFC middleweight champion."

When the opportunity presented to put this fight together, both sides were eager to put each other against the best competition on the most prominent MMA stage on the east coast. "A fight of this caliber is a testament to both fighters and their management", continued Haydak. "There was no hesitation from either camp in getting this deal done. This fight alone will be worth the price of admission."

The excitement of this fight started when Williams joined CFFC in April of 2011. He immediately stepped up in competition and took out UFC veteran Andre Gusmao. After an injury sidelined Williams for over a year, he defeated cagey veteran Lewis Rumsey by first round submission in June of 2012. Williams now faces his toughest challenge when he takes on Renzo Gracie student David Branch. "Dave is a top of the food chain middleweight," said Williams. "This is definitely going to be the toughest fight of my career."

Not only is this the toughest fight of Williams' career, it is scheduled for a five round war for the CFFC middleweight title. "It's an honor to fight for the CFFC title," continued Williams. "CFFC puts on the best show on the east coast. To be a part of this show and fight for a title in CFFC is the culmination of my MMA career so far. I want to finish Dave and establish myself as the top prospect at 185 pounds."

Since turning pro in 2007, Branch has amassed an impressive 10-3 record with his only losses coming to UFC veterans. Branch has faced the best fighters in the world and had four fights in the UFC compiling a 2-2 record. Although Branch has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, most of his victories have come via knock out. No matter where the fight ends up, Branch is confident in his abilities. "I'm looking forward to the fight," said Branch. "On the 24th I'm going to become the Cage Fury middleweight champion."

In addition to Williams vs. Branch, CFFC will have three other title bouts. Kurt Pellegrino stand out George Sullivan will defend his CFFC welterweight title for the first time against Baltimore's Tenyeh "Skinny Man" Dixon. Current CFFC bantamweight champion, Aljamain "Aljo" Sterling, will try to keep his perfect record intact when he defends his title for the second time against Philadelphia's Sidemar "Sedico" Honorio (8-2). AMA's Sean Santella will try to continue his flyweight success when he defends his CFFC title against Evan Velez. For more details on the card please visit www.CFFC.tv.
