Cage Fury Fighting Championships returned to GFL.tv with "CFFC XV" from Atlantic City, New Jersey at the Resorts Hotel and Casino. The exciting card was loaded with the top fighters on the East Coast. CFFC has been on a rampage and MMA fans in the Tri-State area won't want to miss this stacked card. Both the main event and co-main event delivered in a big way and gave the fans two tremendous finishes.
In the main event, Tim "The South Jersey Strangler" Williams (7-0) defeated Lewis "The Beast" Rumsey (8-8.) by rear naked choke in the first round in a highly anticipated middleweight catchweight showdown. Williams came out looking for a takedown but Rumsey countered nicely with a standing guillotine that stopped Williams' progress. Williams finished the takedown and got out of the choke. The fight looked over when Williams secured a tight arm triangle, but Rumsey gutted out of it. Both fighters hopped up to their feet where they began to strike and Rumsey opened up a cut under Williams' right eye with a nice left hook. Not liking the exchanges, Williams landed another strong takedown where he worked from side control. After fighting for position for over a minute, Williams sunk in a tight rear naked choke and Rumsey tapped out giving the fans their monies worth on this night as these two fighters came to battle and Williams walks away with his undefeated streak still intact and looking for new challenges in the middleweight division. In the co-main event, Anton Berzin (2-1) defeated Daniel Holmes (2-1) by armbar in round one after a wild fight. Early on Berzin went for a takedown to get out of range of the punching power of Holmes and to his credit, Holmes fought off the attempts well. After a short knee, Holmes locked in a reverse guillotine that was extremely tight, but Berzin wiggled out of it and went for an armbar then a kneebar on Holmes. Holmes broke up Berzin's submission attempts with stiff punches to the head and the fighters found their way back to their feet. After another takedown by Berzin he again went looking for an armbar and this time after some rolling Berzin got his submission. Berzin is a NAGA Champion and as such there are very few fighters in MMA that can match his skills on the ground. He proved that again tonight by locking on a high level submission and getting the tapout. Definitely a grappling clinic by these two athletes and a great all around fight. Be sure to catch all of the action on video on demand as "CFFC XV" brings down the house on pay-per-view exclusively at GFL.tv. See the rising stars on the East Coast compete in front of some of the most avid fans. Be a part of the excitement and order this iPPV from the GFL Combat Sports Network. |
