Event Description
Cage Fury Fighting Championships returned to Atlantic City, New Jersey as it presented its final installment of 2011, CFFC 12 - Pollard VS Soto at the Resorts Hotel and Casino. The exciting card had 6 of 11 bouts end in either KO or submission and showcased some of the top fighters on the East Coast headlined by a title fight in the welterweight division. CFFC has been on a rampage since its re-launch and this card only added to its growing legacy.

In the main event, Greg Soto (9-2) defeated "The Surgeon" Pollard (5-3) by triangle choke in Round 2 to win the CFFC 170 lb Championship. Pollard was coming into the fight the newly minted champion but found that defending the strap is sometimes harder than winning it in the first place. It was a great showcase of all things MMA as Pollard tried to use his striking advantage while Soto wanted to get things down to the mat. The first round saw an exchange that had both men take punishment, but in Round 2 it was Soto who was able to exert his will and get the fight to the ground and keep it there where he could utilize his advantage and he did just that, getting the tapout victory and becoming the new CFFC Welterweight Champion. The 170 lb title has been a hot potato for CFFC with three different fighters holding it in 2011. 2012 should bring more great action and fights in this stacked division.

In other action, Chris "The Story" Liguori (14-9) defeated Don Carlo-Clauss (7-6) by split decision in the fight of the night. It was a back and forth scrap with each man doing damage and after three hard fought rounds it came down to the judges. Liguori was awarded the victory and it was probably because of his ability to constantly come forward and initiate much of the action. Both fighters landed several hard strikes, but Liguori's determination and pressure showed that he was handling the punishment better. A well-deserved victory for Liguori and a tough loss for Carlo-Clauss.
