Cage Fury Fighting Championships returned to Atlantic City, New Jersey as it presented CFFC 10 - Black Eye to a packed house at the Resorts Hotel and Casino. The card was highlighted by a title switch and included 7 of 9 bouts ending in either KO or submission. CFFC gave the fans another solid show to and added to its ever-increasing momentum as the dominant MMA organization in the Tri-State area.
In the main event, Massachusetts fighter Chip "The Surgeon" Pollard (5-2) defeated the formerly unbeaten Joey "Boom Boom" Rivera (5-1) by TKO by doctor stoppage due to cuts after Round 3. Pollard was surgical in his standup landing punch after punch to Rivera's face causing a cut under his right eye. Rivera looked sluggish from the get go, which might have been due to fighting 3 times in 8 weeks. Whatever it was, Pollard took advantage of the situation and beat Rivera to the punch at almost every instance. In the third round Rivera found some success as he landed a takedown and then worked for a choke. Pollard was able to escape the hold and get back to his feet where the two men continued to battle on their feet with Pollard continuing to get the better of the exchanges, even though Rivera stayed in the pocked and was throwing just as many strikes. After a second successful takedown by Rivera it looked like the tide might be turning in the fight, but after a referee standup due to lack of action, Rivera's eye had suddenly swollen up. The third round came to an end seconds later and the doctor stopped the fight, making Pollard the new CFFC Welterweight Champion in a great main event. In the co-main event, Mike Medrano (9-8) defeated Al Buck (5-10) by arm triangle submission in Round 1. The fight was intense from the opening bell as the crowd shouted and cheered for their guy. After some initial standup, Medrano landed a takedown and immediately moved to half guard and then full guard landing punches throughout the rest of round one. In round two it was more of the same as Medrano got another takedown only this time when he moved to the mount he secured an arm triangle submission for the tapout victory. It was an impressive victory for Medrano who controlled the whole fight and made it a grappling match which is his forte.
