Event Description
Armageddon Fighting Championships returned on GFL.tv with AFC 8 - "Vengeance" in front of a vocal crowd at the Bear Mountain Arena in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The thrilling 9-bout pro/am card had knockouts, submissions and a great action throughout the night. The fans of BC, Canada are some of the most vocal anywhere on the planet and now with AFC joining forces with Aggression MMA and AXE Combat the future looks extremely bright for Western Canada's MMA scene.

In the main event, Diego Wilson (6-1) defeated Corey "The Hatchet" Gower (3-2) by TKO in round two of their epic bantamweight showdown. Wilson proved his grappling superiority as in the first round he had Gower down and was landing strike after strike while Gower could not get off the mat because of Wilson's great control Round two was more of the same as Wilson controlled the standup landing several inside leg kicks that kept Gower at bay and off balance. Wilson finished the fight by landing a big right elbow that knocked Gower down and the referee called a halt to the bout as Gower was hurt and disoriented. It was a great showing for Wilson as he got to grapple and strike and showed future opponents that he is solid in both areas.

In the co-main event, Adam Smith (4-0) defeated Karl "The Viking" Bergen (5-1) by split decision in what was fight of the night in the welterweight division. Smith did enough to win in the eyes of two judges and it was probably the right call, although the fight was extremely close and could have gone either way. Smith controlled the action in the first two rounds with wrestling and landing the cleaner strikes, but Bergen proved his cardio was in tip-top shape as he was the fresher of the two fighters in the final round and reversed Smith's momentum and started landing strikes as the two wrestled for control in the final minutes. It was a great fight and this can only help both men's careers as anyone who saw this fight got their monies worth.
