The top pound for pound female fighter in North America and former
Strikeforce champion Sarah Kaufman 12-1 fights in her home town for
the first time in her career. She takes on Japans Megumi Yabushita
17-8 @ 135lbs in what guarantees to be an epic battle.
Kaufman said she took the fight with Strikeforce permission and also remains under contract with Strikeforce and anticipates another title run. Prior to her recent loss to Coenen, the previously undefeated Kaufman had racked up 12 consecutive wins to open her career. The 25-year-old Canadian claimed the Strikeforce title with a February 2010 win over Takayo Hashi and defended the belt against Roxanne Modafferi before surrendering the title this past October. Also in the co-main event we have two top Canadians, Nick "The Juggernaut" Hinchliffe (17-7, , B.C. #8) will take on Ryan Machan (12-6) in a battle that all expect to be toe 2 toe. Plus many great up and coming fighters such as David "Showtime" Perron, Nick Driedger, Derek Medler and the more experienced Andrew Buckland. |
