Combat sports fans can now watch strictly grappling now that the Professional Grappling League (PGL) is here. PGL returns to GFL.tv with its second installment as PGL II will be available starting December 30 for video on demand streaming. PGL has assembled a deep roster of experienced grapplers and looks to spread the word to a worldwide audience about their organization. Coverage on GFL will do just that.
In the main event, Matt Dosk and Bill "The Honey Badger" Algeo square off in a Super Fight at 165 lb as these two grapplers look to make their mark on the world's #1 grappling league. Dosk is known for his aggression and punishing pace. In his first bout with PGL, Dosk was controlling 2012 Open Weight Champion, Joe Solecki before getting caught by a submission. Dosk looks to improve on his first showing and finish the task at hand by submitting Algeo who also has something to prove. Algeo is a purple belt out of Hellfish/NJMA and many believe the fast paced and relentless Algeo won his match in the 2012 PGL Open Weight contest against Sidemar Honorio, who is trained by Renzo Gracie in a technical war that went to the judges. Also in action, a Middleweight Tournament which features a collection of highly credentialed grapplers like David Elias who has over 20 years of wrestling experience and is the head instructor at Black Belt MMA. Lex Fridman will also compete in the tourney out of Team Balance. The Russian Fridman is a purple belt in jiu jitsu but holds a brown belt in judo. Robert Mudrak is also set to enter the tourney. Mudrak is a brown belt in jiu jitsu and holds a (1-0) record in MMA. Michael Padilla, from Renzo Gracie Pennsylvania will also challenge for the title. A brown belt, Padilla also is (2-4) in MMA. For fans of the grappling arts this is a dream come true. Sometime the art gets lost in today's current MMA rules system which prevents many of the creative moves and transitions that sports like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo and amateur wrestling teach as fundamentals. If you are a fan of the mat-based techniques of MMA and love the grappling techniques, transitions, and scrambles, then PGL II is must see TV. Order now. |
