Event Description
Northern Nevada's premier cage fighting event returned as Ultimate Reno Combat 31 presented THIRTY ONE at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada. URC was recently voted the #1 Amateur MMA Organization in the Nation. The event featured a title match with a new champion being crowned and some awesome knockouts and submissions.

In the main event, "Bad" Brad Robasciotti (3-1) from Mountain Warrior Fight Team in California defeated Brandon Costa (4-1) of Ultimate Fitness in California by TKO in round 3 to win the URC Light Heavyweight Championship. It was a back and forth fight and every bit deserving of a championship battle. Robasciotti's wrestling proved to be his strength as he was able to take the former champ down to the ground and use great control to keep Costa grounded for the first round. Round two had some even striking exchanges until Robasciotti got another takedown to end the round. In round three, Robasciotti saw his chance and once the bout went to the ground he unloaded repeatedly with hard strikes until the referee stopped it and awarded him the victory making him the new champ.

In the co-main event, Oscar Ramirez (8-1) defeated Michael Hutchins (2-1) via TKO in a bantamweight scrap. Hutchins tried to pounce on Ramirez at the opening bell, maybe trying to catch the veteran off guard. It didn't work. Ramirez sidestepped and landed a takedown on Hutchins and from there landed several hard strikes while on top forcing the referee to stop the bout in round one. It was a solid win for Ramirez who might want to consider turning professional now.
