In the Main Event, Fitz Vanderpool (26-7-4) continued his comeback against Roberto McLellan (6-2-1). Early on McLellan was very elusive and used his speed to rack up points against the former title challenger Vanderpool. Vanderpool came back with harder shots on the elusive McLellan during the middle rounds. Vanderpool used his experience to notch rounds later on while it was clear he was fading but McLellan didn't have the power to hold him off. In the final 2 rounds McLellan seemed to have the advantage, out hustling the obviously tired Vanderpool. At the end of 10 rounds the judges scored the fight 96-94, 97-93, & 99-91 in favor of Fitz "The Whip" Vanderpool.
Francesco Controni (7-1) was the matador & Rory Coveney (10-2) was the bull in a all action battle for the NBA Jr Middleweight title. Coveney pressured Controni the entire fight but it was the slicker Controni who controlled the fight. Controni used different angles not allowing Coveney to cut off the ring on him. Coveney was non stop with pressure but wasn't able to derail Controni over the course of 10 rounds. The judges scored the bout 97-93, 99-91, & 99-91 for your winner Francesco Controni.
Frank White (8-7-2) & Sandy Robb (9-1-1) put on a non stop cruiserweight slugfest. White, a perennial journeyman in Canada, put on the performance of his career out gunning the undefeated Robb at every turn. Throughout the fight Robb showed his moments but White controlled the pace landing the harder & more significant shots. White at times looked like he was fading but Robb never seemed to pull the trigger. The judges scored the fight 80-72, 80-72, 80-73 to your winner via unanimous decision Frank "The Hammer" White.
Both Ron Savoie (7-8-3) & Marcel Maillett Jr (2-5-1) picked up where they left off from their 1st encount on 11/24/12 that resulted in a draw. Savoie, the former Canadian super Middleweight champion, Maillett went back and forth for 8 rounds. Savoie seemed to land the bigger punches while Maillett was landed more frequently. As the fight wore on the 49 year old Savoie tired but kept the pace while Maillett had enough gas left in the tank to stick to his gameplan. Maillett landed thr best shot of the fight in the 7th but Savoie was able to hang on until the final bell rang. The judges scored the fight 78-74 Maillett, 77-76 Savoie, and 77-75 in favor of your winner via split decision Marcel Maillett Jr.
Brandon Brewer (6-0) started slow against Glisandy Mejia (4-2). Early on Mejia was able to land his wide looping shots at a distance of Brewer but Brewer quickly adapted. Brewer took away the distance and made it a fight on the inside. Mejia had no answers for Brewer's inside fighting. Brewer consistenly hurt Mejia to the body setting up a brutal right had knocking Mejia unconsious instantly at the 2:56 mark of Round 2.
Marshall Norrad (2-2) made a return to the ring after back to back loses against Denis Martin (2-3). Martin was backing Norrad up with his power early but Norrad was biding his time landing a booming left counterpuch dropping Martin in his tracks. Martin was unable to beat the count at the 1:55 mark of the 1st round.
